JOHN QUAGLIONE CALLS ON MAYOR TO ASSIGN MORE POLICE OFFICERS TO SOUTHWEST BROOKLYN PRECINCTS SIGN THE PETITION
New York- John Quaglione, a candidate for New York City Council’s 43rd District, today is announcing that he has launched a petition addressed to Mayor Bill de Blasio, calling for more New York police officers to be assigned to the 68th Precinct and 62nd Precincts.
“This morning, I have launched an online petition addressed to Mayor de Blasio calling for more police officers to be assigned to our precinct. It is my intention that through this effort, we can highlight the need to have more cops on patrol throughout Dyker Heights, Bath Beach, Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst. The men and women of the 68th and 62nd Precincts are doing an extraordinary job keeping us safe with limited resources, but to truly tackle some of the crime taking place in our neighborhood, endangering our quality of life, we need more cops,” said John Quaglione.
The full text of the petition is as follows:
"We are calling on Mayor Bill de Blasio to assign more police officers to the 68th and 62nd Precincts in Southwest Brooklyn, so to increase the number of cops on patrol in our neighborhood. We applaud the fine work of the men and women of our local precincts, who keep our neighborhoods safe, however additional officers will empower the 68th and 62nd Precincts to target pockets of crime threatening our safety and quality of life. Greater police resources will allow us to further adhere to the 'broken windows' theory, solve crimes faster, and root out offenses such as commercial burglaries, package thefts, car break-in's and more. Now is the time to assign more cops to send a message to the criminals that we will not allow our safety to be jeopardized."
To support this effort and send a message to the Mayor, local residents are encouraged to sign the petition at https://www.change.org/p/bill-de-blasio-more-police-officers-for-our-brooklyn-streets
